Yes our counsellors are fully qualified and insured. We are also registered with two governing bodies, COSCA (Counselling & Psychotherapy Scotland) and the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy). We follow their guidelines for best practice, giving you peace of mind that our counsellors practice is ethical.
The therapist here are person-centred counsellors. See our ‘about us’ section for more information.
People attend counselling for many reasons, from psychological distress, to maintaining mental wellbeing, or simply to check in with yourself. We are experienced in working with various concerns such as depression, anxiety, grief, abuse, trauma, chronic health conditions, menstrual health including endometriosis and fertility issues, PTSD, and neurodivergent ways of being, such as ADHD, autism, and dyspraxia. Our approach is anti-oppressive and we work in the LGBTQIA+ community.
Each client is unique, ultimately it is up to you how long you attend therapy.
We appreciate it is not possible for everyone to attend therapy weekly, or at the same time each week. We are happy to discuss frequency with each client.
Our rate is £55.00 per session. See our services page for more information.
Counselling sessions last 50 minutes. If you need any adaptations to timings then please let us know.

No, we offer counselling online as well as in person. We can work with individuals anywhere in the UK and you do not need any software subscriptions. We simply send you a link to join and we do the rest.
The first session will have some housekeeping, where you and the counsellor set out the terms of therapy, including a confidentiality agreement. Then the counsellor and client work together to build a relationship. You will not be asked lots of probing questions or be asked to share anything that you are not comfortable with.
No, this stereotype stems from Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis practice in the late 1800’s. It is not how we do things in person-centred therapy. Our room has two chairs and a sofa where we can sit comfortably.
Some clients share a lot and some very little, both are okay. Equally if you feel too overwhelmed to talk, we can simply sit with you in these moments.
We will not ask probing questions. We are guided by what you want to bring to the space and will never force you to discuss anything that feels unsafe or uncomfortable.
In person centred therapy, we do not set homework.
Yes, we are happy to make you a cup of tea or coffee. We also have water in our room.
