Sofia is our compassionate, dynamic, social justice advocate, who values empowering others to find their inner strength and worth. Community is important to Sofia who has many years of experience campaigning for issues such as women’s health conditions, equality, and social justice. Her passion for this has led her to represent these issues at a national level. She is experienced in working with individuals who live with chronic health concerns including fibromyalgia and endometriosis. Sofia’s areas of specialist interest include neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD and autism, working in the LGBTQIA+ community, depression, anxiety, fertility issues, women’s health, and gender identity.
As a queer, neurodivergent therapist, Sofia appreciates the challenges and minority stress that can accompany living in a neurotypical normative world. Sofia is skilled at providing a space where clients can explore their gender identity and sexual orientation. All in an environment where there are no right or wrong answers, free from judgement or expectations.
No matter what challenges clients are facing in life, Sofia welcomes everyone to her therapy room. She prides herself on utilising an inclusive, affirming, and non-judgemental approach to counselling. Working in collaboration with her clients to create a warm welcoming space where they can explore themselves and the world around them.
She considers it a great honour to witness her client’s growth and development. Furthermore she has mentored students in further and higher education.
Sofia holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology & Counselling from Abertay University and a PgDip in Person Centred-Counselling from the University of Aberdeen. She is a member of both COSCA and the BACP, giving you peace of mind that her practice is ethically sound and supported by the professional governing bodies for Scotland and the UK.

Fiona feels passionately about helping clients to embrace their individuality and worth, and she appreciates the unique needs, values, and preferences of every individual. She supports people in developing their own strengths and abilities to lead more authentic and fulfilling lives. She believes that by embracing one’s true self, individuals can achieve a greater sense of happiness. Her approach is holistic, considering all aspects of your well-being.
Fiona is also our resident creative soul who truly values the benefits of spending time in nature. She believes that both our mental and physical health can greatly improve from being outdoors, as it helps reduce stress levels, boosts our mood, and enhances overall well-being. Fiona often spends her free time walking through forests and immersing herself in the tranquillity of nature. Fiona is currently pursuing a qualification in Forest Therapy to incorporate this into her practice. Spending time in nature is scientifically proven to improve immune function, reduce blood pressure and enhance mental clarity. Fiona’s goal is to bring this knowledge and experience to help others.
Fiona has worked with various organizations specializing in counselling for bereavement and loss, including Cruse Bereavement. In these roles, she has supported individuals in processing, navigating, and finding meaning after loss. Not only has she provided counselling for bereavement, but Fiona also has unique insights into end-of-life care and the rollercoaster of emotions that accompany it. With over a decade of experience working in the community, she has provided care and support to individuals and their families during these difficult times. She also specializes in dementia support and empathizes with the helplessness, confusion, and anxiety that come with chronic sorrow and ongoing loss.
Furthermore, Fiona supports survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, regardless of gender. She offers a warm, welcoming, non-judgmental space where you can share as much or as little as you want at your own pace. All emotions are welcome; there is no right or wrong way to process these experiences.
Fiona's interest in all areas of trauma continues to grow as she develops and expands her training in this field. Childhood trauma can follow you into adulthood and impact all areas of life. This type of trauma can manifest in various ways, including difficulty in forming healthy relationships and struggles with self-esteem and self-worth. Fiona is dedicated to helping individuals navigate these complex issues, supporting them to heal and move forward. Family and relationship trauma can also have a profound impact on our mental health, and these experiences can bring about depression, anxiety, stress, as well as an altered sense of self. By providing a space where individuals can talk about their experiences, Fiona’s approach helps to create a space where you can process and make sense of your emotions.
Other areas of interest for Fiona include ADHD, anxiety, depression, health-related issues, personal growth, and post-traumatic stress. Whatever brings you to therapy, she will walk alongside you and help you explore, heal, and grow.
