Sofia is our compassionate, dynamic, social justice advocate, who values empowering others to find their inner strength and worth. Community is important to Sofia who has many years of experience campaigning for issues such as women’s health conditions, equality, and social justice. Her passion for this has led her to represent these issues at a national level. She is experienced in working with individuals who live with chronic health concerns including fibromyalgia and endometriosis. Sofia’s areas of specialist interest include neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD and autism, working in the LGBTQIA+ community, depression, anxiety, fertility issues, women’s health, and gender identity.
As a queer, neurodivergent therapist, Sofia appreciates the challenges and minority stress that can accompany living in a neurotypical normative world. Sofia is skilled at providing a space where clients can explore their gender identity and sexual orientation. All in an environment where there are no right or wrong answers, free from judgement or expectations.
No matter what challenges clients are facing in life, Sofia welcomes everyone to her therapy room. She prides herself on utilising an inclusive, affirming, and non-judgemental approach to counselling. Working in collaboration with her clients to create a warm welcoming space where they can explore themselves and the world around them.
She considers it a great honour to witness her client’s growth and development. Furthermore she has mentored students in further and higher education.
Sofia holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology & Counselling from Abertay University and a PgDip in Person Centred-Counselling from the University of Aberdeen. She is a member of both COSCA and the BACP, giving you peace of mind that her practice is ethically sound and supported by the professional governing bodies for Scotland and the UK.
Fiona is our resident creative soul, and loves all things nature. She is passionate about being free to be yourself and understanding your own value. She appreciates the unique needs, values and preferences of every individual and supports people to develop their own strengths and abilities to lead fulfilling lives. Fiona believes in being true to yourself, building a strong sense of self and letting go of that need to appear perfect or being someone you are not. Fiona offers both online and in-person counselling and has a relaxed holistic approach. No issue is too big or too small to bring to her therapy room. She offers a warm, welcoming and inclusive space where you can explore anything you choose to bring at your own pace.
Fiona works with various organisations providing counselling to individuals who have experienced bereavement and loss and how that alters our way of being. She works with survivors of domestic and sexual abuse regardless of gender and provides a space where all your emotions are welcome
She has over a decade of experience working with adults in social care where she specialised in dementia support and end of life care and can empathise with the helplessness, confusion and anxiety which accompanies the chronic sorrow and uncertainty of ongoing loss. Her areas of interest include, abuse, ADHD, anxiety , bereavement, depression, health-related issues, personal development, post-traumatic stress, and trauma. Fiona has worked with a wide scope of clients and whatever brings you to therapy, she will walk alongside you and help you explore, heal and grow.
